Pandora's Curse

In Greek mythology, Hephaestus created Pandora, the first woman, and Zeus awarded her a box with the ability to end paradise on Earth if opened: full of woe, disease, violence, heartache… and hope. When Pandora’s curious mind got the best of her, she defied Zeus’ command to never open it, unleashing all the box’s evils on humankind. All but one – hope, remained inside. ‘Pandora’s Curse’ is a short film about Pandora’s wrath, rebellious rage and solitude that both empowers and destroys her. Even as the epitome of beauty, purity and newness, she is vilified for her independence and curiosity, for living as the person she was created to be. The hope that she represents is both a blessing and a curse.
