Let’s Take It Slow
Healing is a perplexing concept. In theory, it’s a point A to B troubleshoot. In practice, it feels more like a rollercoaster in the pitch black. In an attempt to explore the cacophony of noise within my mind, this piece aims to demystify the confusion and slithers of hope that characterised my process of healing and self-fulfilment.
Originating as a collection of journal entries, the piece is an attempted symbiosis between my rational and emotional selves, making sense of a trauma that will probably never heal. With the subject never showing full face, it is a longing for reclamation of identity amidst the confusion of a mental space that has previously not been explored. Healing is a hard, but self-actualising experience.
