It’s time to step out into a new year at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).
If you’re new to the scene, UTS has set out a crash course per faculty over the next fortnight to get you in the mood for what’s to come. From Design to Engineering to Law, stop by for sessions specialising in Surviving on Student Income, Successful Study Strategies and your very own Speed Friending session that hopes to break the new year ice. Orientation gives you everything you need for a fresh start to University, with sessions on both work and study to develop your professional self.
O’Day is your one-stop-shop for all things extra-curricular. Clubs and societies will be shooting their shot all day long, probably thrusting freebies in your hands and promising the world and more for your allegiance (of course, I say this with love, as Vertigo will also be doing a lil’ somethin’ somethin’ too). Join the Food Appreciation Society, take up Capoeira or find yourself lost in the thicket of buildings we have across the entire Central campus. O’Day begins on Thursday the 28th of February from 9:00am in Building 1.
For the veterans entering their third or sixth year at UTS, orientation isn’t the most exciting time. It can be difficult to find the energy to attend University before it even really begins. Yet, similar to Marie Kondo’s Konmari method, Summerfest aims to spark joy.
Summerfest is an orientation perk that’s hard to ignore. The fete is a celebration of the Australian music scene on the Alumni Green in hopes of cultivating high spirits for the new year. With appearances from Kota Banks, Ebony Boadu and Allday; the vibrancy of this one will be hard to miss. Start your semester with a bang on Friday the 8th of March from 3:00pm on the Alumni Green.
Here’s to good coffee and even better GPAs in Autumn 2019.
